5-15 MAY
10am-2pm
Kelly Street, Scone
The Scone Visitor Information & Horse Centre has a permanent exhibition that highlights the history of the horse in Australia and in particular its role in the Upper Hunter.
Temporary exhibitions developed by a volunteer committee have included ‘Local Olympians’, Polo and ‘The History of Pony Club in the Hunter’. The latest temporary exhibition ‘Horse Bit Collection’ has been completed and is now available for the public to view. A bit is a type of horse tack used in equestrian activities, usually made of metal or a synthetic material, and is placed in the mouth of a horse and assists a rider in communicating with the horse.
Come along and have a look at the history of the horse in Australia, here in Scone, the Horse Capital of Australia.
