FESTIVAL
UPDATE
A meeting of the Executive Scone Horse Festival Committee was held last night (Monday, 16 March) to discuss the latest developments around Coronavirus and its impact on events and festivals.
“The announcement by the Prime Minister on Friday regarding the banning of ‘non-essential’ gatherings of 500+ people, and genuine concern for the health and wellbeing of our community has driven the decision to cancel this year’s festival,” remarked David Gatwood, President Scone Horse Festival Committee.
“The planned Music Event, Horse Parade, Scone Cup Carnival and Picnic at Lake Glenbawn all attract large crowds and would breach the Federal Government’s decree.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Committee, our Sponsors and trust the general public will understand this has been a difficult decision for all involved.”
