Today marked one of the biggest and most vibrant days of the 2026 Warburton Estate Agents Scone Horse Festival program, with thousands turning out to enjoy a packed schedule of events. Under glorious blue skies, Scone came alive with energy and colour, as visitors and locals embraced a full day of celebration showcasing the very best of the Upper Hunter’s equine heritage and community spirit.
Today’s program included the Scone Equine Hospital Horse Festival Parade, Equine Podiatry and Lameness Centre Farrier Competition, Scone Arts & Crafts Members Exhibition, Scone Grammar School Fete and Markets, and the captivating Team Thoroughbred NSW Training Academy Equine Extravaganza. A standout moment was the parade, which featured more than 50 entries in a spectacular procession through town. Blending equine excellence with creative non-equine displays, the parade delivered a colourful and imaginative interpretation of this year’s “Breeding Brilliance” theme, capturing the attention and admiration of large crowds lining the streets.
Festival President Jason Hill said the day was a powerful reflection of everything Scone’s annual horse festival represents.
“Today was one perfect day,” Mr Hill said. “To see the streets full, the markets busy and the crowds out enjoying every part of the program was incredibly special, and exactly what this festival is all about. This is what regional spirit looks like. From kids through to those in their 80s… everyone is part of it, everyone is enjoying being part of this community, and everyone plays a role in bringing this event to life.”
He also acknowledged the extraordinary effort behind the scenes.
“I’m truly humbled by the level of community support we’ve seen today, and honestly blown away by the work of our event organisers and volunteers who make it all happen.”
With strong attendance, ideal weather and a diverse program appealing to all ages, today’s events have further cemented the Warburton Estate Agents Scone Horse Festival as one of regional Australia’s most loved and enduring celebrations.
The festival continues across the coming days, with more exciting events, entertainment and community celebrations still to come!
