The 2024 Warburton Estate Agents Scone Horse Festival has concluded, marking another extraordinary year of celebrating the rich equine heritage of the Upper Hunter Valley. Running from May 10 to May 19, the festival embraced the vibrant theme “Let the games begin!” in tribute to the 2024 Paris Olympics and the region’s deep connections to the equestrian world.
This year’s festival featured events highlighting the versatility and significance of horses. Notable highlights included the Scone Equine Hospital Horse Festival Parade, which brought the streets of Scone to life with a colorful display of equine talent and community spirit, and the Jack Johnston Memorial Gala Day, which drew hundreds of kids from across the region to White Park for a day full of farm fun.
Scone Horse Festival Committee President, Andrew Cooper, couldn’t be prouder of the results of the 2024 event. “The committee works extremely hard to ensure we deliver the best festival experience for everyone, and I think this year’s festival has been one the best yet”, he said.
The festival not only provided entertainment and competition but also delivered significant economic and social benefits to the Upper Hunter Valley. The influx of visitors boosted local businesses, with well attended events and bustling streets demonstrating the festival’s positive impact on the community.
The success of the 2024 festival would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, especially Warburton Estate Agents, our naming rights sponsor. Their commitment has been instrumental in elevating the festival’s stature and ensuring its continued success.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the local community for their unwavering support and enthusiastic participation. The spirit and dedication of the Scone region’s residents play a crucial role in making this festival a memorable and cherished event each year.
As we wrap up the 2024 Warburton Estate Agents Scone Horse Festival, we look forward to even greater celebration next year as we celebrate the 45th Scone Horse Festival. Mr. Cooper adds, “With the revitalisation of the main street set to be completed and a major milestone to celebrate we are looking forward to continuing to honour our equine heritage and bringing joy to the Upper Hunter Valley”.
