The streets of Scone came alive with equine splendor on Saturday as the Scone Equine Hospital Horse Festival Parade captivated audiences with its vibrant display of talent and passion for all things equine.
The event, which drew participants from diverse disciplines and groups, witnessed a remarkable turnout despite the challenges posed by the weather. Fortunately, the skies remained clear, allowing spectators to line the streets and immerse themselves in the spectacle of the parade.
This year’s Festival theme, “Let the Games Begin,” in honour of the Olympic Games, added an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings, inspiring participants to showcase their creativity and skill through floats that reflected the theme’s spirit of competition and camaraderie.
A highlight of the day was the announcement of the award winners, each recognised for their outstanding parade entry:
Best Float: The Yellow Cottage
Best Horse Stud: Godolphin, with their dedicated Lifetime Care team
Best School Entry: Scone Grammar School
Best Pony Club: Scone Pony Club
Best Junior Rider: Ollie Rossington and Zeus from Bunnan Polocrosse Club

“These awards represent the culmination of hard work, fun, and love for horses,” remarked Peter Carrigan, Scone Horse Festival Committee member and Parade organiser. “We are immensely proud of all the participants for their commitment to making this year’s parade a resounding success.”
The Scone Equine Hospital Horse Festival Parade continues to serve as a platform for fostering community spirit and celebrating the region’s rich equestrian heritage. A showcase of talent and inclusivity, the event reinforces Scone’s reputation as the Horse Capital of Australia.
