WHITE PARK, SCONE
Official Scone Horse Festival event
AGL JACK JOHNSTON MEMORIAL GALA DAY
ALL THE FUN OF THE FARM AT WHITE PARK
The Jack Johnston Day held annually at White Park is an integral part of the Scone Horse Festival and provides an educational rural experience for all ages.
The event brings hundreds of school children from across the Upper Hunter together to witness a variety of interactive and educational demonstrations focusing on the agricultural significance of the region.
This year White Park will be alive with a yard dog sheep trial, a dog high jump, farrier demonstrations, heavy horse demonstrations, sheep-shearing, damper making and a cheese making demonstration by a local cheesemaker. Additions this year will be a Bee-Keeper who will talk to students re the Honey industry and the local Land Services re feral animals and land conservation.
This year will include some of Godolphin’s most loved horses – with the opportunity to meet the Godolphin team and feed their beautiful horses at this very special event. Godolphin have been proudly part of this event for many years as very big supporters of Scone Horse Festival and the Jack Johnston Memorial Gala Day.
Representatives from the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association will be on hand to educate children on the thoroughbred industry’s role in the community as well as the two local Veterinary Clinics giving talks about Pet Care.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Group will also provide a barbecue while representatives from the Hunter Valley Police District will give students the opportunity to learn about the work of our Police Service.
